Well, I have an exam tomorrow. So of course I do the logical thing… blog for the first time in months. Procrastination at its finest.
So big news in the life of Stephanie… I’m 99% sure I’ll be spending my summer in the Big Apple! The Gallery Church in NYC has approved me to be one of their summer interns! Now I have to be approved by the NY Southern Baptist Convention and the NAMB, but I don’t think there will be many problems. I prayed specifically that if this is where God wanted me, that it would happen and it’s happening! God is so good.
I have a feeling if I go to NY, I’ll blog a lot more often. Think of all the crazy-neat people I’m going to run into (figuratively, but probably literally too…) up there. It’s like a completely different world. I’ll probably get chewed up and spit out, but all for the glory of God baby!!!
This semester has been easy. Almost too easy. I feel like any day now I’m going to come to the awful realization everything is due the next day, but looking at my planner, I’m not sure that will actually ever happen. I think I have one of the most simple semesters ever…
- Advanced Public Speaking- No tests. Online, open-book quizzes. Stand up and talk for a total of 20 minutes for an A. I think I’ve got that covered.
- Foundations of Speech- Six open-book quizzes and two 2-minute speech. Check.
- Group Dynamics- Play games in class. Go to the animal shelter once a week and play with dogs. Got it.
- Parliamentary Procedure- One test. Three 20-minute “meetings” across the whole semester. Piece of cake.
- Interpersonal Communication- Three tests. Two papers. And that’s my “hard” class.
It really can’t get much easier than that. Welcome to the life of a Speech Communication major. All you nursing and engineering majors are jealous. I know I would be.
Well, I really must get back to reading the 170 PAGES I need to read about Interpersonal Communication. Really? Who could write that much about identity and nonverbal communication? Lame.

That’s what it was like for me last semester. Then it hit the fan all at once.
Is that Group Dynamics as in Dr. G-B’s class?

Comment by steph44 February 18, 2009 @ 5:50 amWhat?! Stephanie updated her blog. I’m in shock! And VERY jealous of your classes this semester, and of your summer plans- I’ll think of you with envy as I fry chicken at Chick-fil-A.
